求学路上，孩子们的每一次前行，都是在不断挑战自我，完成一次次心灵的成长。这次来到上海帕丁顿双语学校参与衔接课程的孩子们也是如此，虽然刚开始的时候他们有些害怕、有些迷惘、有些想家，但当进入到衔接课程之后，我们看到了不一样的他们。

Every little step ahead in the path of schooling comes with a mental growth after constant self-challenges. This is also true for kids that came to Shanghai Paddington Bilingual School for the bridging courses. Although feeling a little scared, somewhat lost and homesick at the beginning, they showed a different side of themselves after the bridging courses started.

衔接课程是湖州帕丁顿双语学校与上海帕丁顿双语学校两校老师共同努力、联手打造的精品课程。在校园生活课程中设置了心理辅导、校园生活技能学习、规范教育课程，教授低年级的孩子如何和小朋友沟通。在课堂上应该怎么做?在学校里该做什么不该做什么?而高年级的孩子们则学习如何规划学习生活，如何强健体魄，并通过心理测试来了解真实的自己。

Bridging courses are top-quality ones jointly developed by teachers from both Huzhou Paddington and Shanghai Paddington Bilingual School. In-campus life courses included mental counseling, in-campus life skills learning and standard education sessions, teaching low-grade kids how to communicate with peers. They learnt what behaviors are expected in class and what they should do and not do in school. High-grade students learnt how to make life and study plans, how to build a strong body and get to know their true self through psychological tests.

语文、数学、英语是衔接课程的必修科目，但是此次课程并不同以往的“一言堂”课堂形式，因为老师们加入了很多有趣的互动内容——话剧、卡通人物、小故事、小游戏、电影短片统统被搬进了课堂，多种多样的形式让孩子们更轻松和专注地学习。而多位骨干教师的讲课更是抓住了孩子的神经，让平时的“小淘气”也能静下心来认真听讲。

Chinese, Math and English were compulsory subjects but were not taught in the traditionally teacher-dominant approach. Many interesting interactive forms, such as dramas, cartoon characters, stories, games, movie clips were used to-keep them engaged and improve their concentration, allowing them to learn more easily. Students were captivated by the lively courses of senior teachers. Even the-so called naughtiest ones behaved themselves and listened attentively.

而在体育课程方面，结合上海帕丁顿成熟的教育体系和教学设施，选取了多元化，国际化体育课程。

Leveraging Shanghai Paddington’s advanced educational system and teaching facilities, we designed for kids diversified PE courses with an international perspective.

游泳课程——让孩子学习游泳，这不仅为孩子增添一项逃生技能，更有利于孩子们强身健体，塑造体魄。

Swimming-Learning to swim is not just learning a self-rescue skill, but is also conducive for kids to build a strong body and physical strength.

高尔夫课程——考验孩子对于力量的控制能力，学习高尔夫礼仪，形成谦让沉稳自律的精神品质，为将来的商务社交打下良好的基础。

Golf-Golfing shapes students’ force-control ability while learning golf etiquettes will make them humble, self-possessed and disciplined and prepare them for future business interactions.

击剑课程——锻炼身体柔韧性和四肢协调能力，击剑作为美国常春藤名校的传统运动项目，更是赴美留学的一大“跳板”。

Fencing-This sport improves body flexibility and coordination. Besides, it’s an Ivy League traditional sport and a great springboard for studying abroad in America.

为了加强孩子们的团队意识和纪律意识，开学前的军训也势在必行，所以在课程中间穿插了适度的军训，*括站军姿，走正步以及整理内务等训练，让孩子们体验军旅生活，磨练吃苦耐劳的意志。

Pre-school military training is essential to strengthen kids’ team spirit and discipline awareness, so proper military training was included in the courses. Students were told to stand like soldiers, take goose steps and tidy their own bedrooms, experiencing the life of soldiers and fostering the spirits of hard-working and bearing hardships.

更多独具帕丁顿双语学校特色的课程也展现在了孩子们眼前，戏剧课——通过电影片段，要求孩子们表达自己的理解，并简单地进行演绎，这对于孩子的理解能力和表达能力是一大考验。创意宿舍课——老师与孩子们一起脑洞大开，打造一个具有特色的特色寝室。

Students were also taught more courses with strong Paddington features. In drama classes, they were asked to express their opinions on the movie clips and make simple performance, a huge test to their comprehension and expression ability. In creative dormitory classes, teachers and students released their imaginations to create unique dormitories.

虽然只有短短几天时间里，但是我们却看到了孩子们的成长，从紧张不安到认真听讲;从害羞怯懦到在帕丁顿这个大家庭里相谈甚欢;从哭哭啼啼到盈盈笑语。一步一个脚印，湖州帕丁顿的**批学员们已经突破自我，进入了良好的学习状态。

Within such short period, we saw growth in kids and their change from nervousness to active listeners in class, from being shy and timid to communicating happily with each other, from tears to smiles. Step by step, the first batch of students of Huzhou Paddington have broken through themselves and be ready for the upcoming school life.
