80年前的12月13日，侵华日军攻陷南京，制造了震惊中外的“南京大屠杀”惨案。为了牢记国耻，缅怀先烈，响应共青团中央号召，湖州帕丁顿双语学校特开展“勿忘国耻，振兴中华”国家公祭日主题活动。引导同学们在慎终追远、缅怀先辈的情怀中去感受和传承英雄们的伟大精神。

80 years ago，on Dec. 13 , the Japanese invaders captured Nanjing and committed the Nanjing Massacre that shocked the whole world. To remember the national humiliation, commemorate the martyrs and respond to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, the School organized a National Memorial Day activity. Themed around “never forget national humiliation and rejuvenate the Chinese nation”, the activity taught students to respect and commemorate our ancestors while feeling and inheriting the great spirits of those heroes.

Expressing Respect via Paintings

小学部的同学们用画笔向英雄致敬。用色彩和线条去追溯英雄先烈的崇高精神和光辉事迹。

Primary students showed their respect to heroes in their drawings. They depicted the lofty spirit and heroic deeds of revolutionary martyrs with colors and lines.

Pilot Wang Wei is the hero of Toby Chen and also the hero of all people in Huzhou!

国旗护卫队官兵

沈喆熠画笔下的英雄是气宇轩昂的国旗护卫队官兵。无论狂风暴雨，酷暑隆冬，他们都会雄赳赳、气昂昂地从天安门走出，在天安门广场将五星红旗升起。

The hero drawn by Danny Shen is an imposing national flag guard. In storms and rains, in cold winter and hot summer, they escort our national flag to Tiananmen Square every day and raise the flag there.

朱德大元帅

王智俊心目中的英雄是中华人民共和国十大元帅之首朱德大元帅，看来《朱德的扁担》这篇经典的语文课文给他留下了深刻的印象。

The hero depicted by Jason Wang is Marshal Zhu De who takes the first place in the 10 Marshals List of the People’s Republic of China. Zhu De’s Shoulder Pole, a classic Chinese textbook article must have left a deep impression on him.

“学习雷锋好榜样……”一首脍炙人口的歌，一颗赤子之心，一个燃烧自己照亮别人的英魂，这就是傅昱人的英雄。

“Follow the good example of Lei Feng” is a catchy song that describes a helpful and loving person that burns himself out to give light to others. Lei Feng is the hero in the eyes of FelixFu.

Caring Deeply about the Country and the People

一个优秀的民族，必定是一个尊重历史、牢记历史的民族。我们不曾忘记南京大屠杀的国殇——对不起，我们不能帮助你们，但我们会永远铭记你们!

A great nation must be one that respects and remembers history. We have never forgotten the grief of Nanjing Massacre—though we cannot be there to help you, we will always remember you!

不忘国耻，以史为鉴，努力实现中国梦，初中部的同学们开展了“勿忘国耻，振兴中华”主题演讲比赛。同学们慷慨激昂、抑扬顿挫的演讲，揭露了日本帝国主义在中国犯下的滔天罪行，讲述了中国人民在抗日战争中百折不挠英勇不屈的大无畏精神!

We should never forget the national humiliation. We should draw lessons from history and strive to realize the Chinese dream. In middle school, students participated in the speech contest themed around “never forget the national humiliation and rejuvenate the Chinese nation”. Their impassioned and cadenced speeches exposed the heinous crimes committed by Japanese imperialists in China and demonstrated the dauntless spirit and perseverance of the Chinese people in the War of Resistance against Japan.

最后徐沈竹同学以标准流利的发言，热血沸腾的演讲，意气风发的台风脱颖而出。

Xu Shenzhu stood out with his fluent and passionate speech and great stage manner.

他以381分的高分取得了本次的演讲比赛冠军，谈邱瞳和沈佳慧同学也以优秀的表现取得了并列第二的好成绩。

Scoring 381 points, he got the first prize, followed by Tan Qiutong and Shen Jiahui who tied for a second place.

古人云“知耻而后勇”，同学们，让我们不忘历史，传承英烈之魂，为中华之崛起而读书!

As the ancient saying goes “we will be brave after feeling shamed”, we should never forget history. We should pass on the spirit of martyrs and study hard for the rise of our nation!
