In celebration of the upcoming year 2018, Huzhou Paddington Bilingual School has prepared an amazing New Year Gala. With best wishes and expectations, let’s look back the great moments of the gala and relish the warmth and goodness of the big family!

12月24日下午，新年联欢会在学校室内体育馆盛大启幕，全校教职员工，学生以及学生家长欢聚一堂，共同参与到了这一年一度的盛会中来。更有关注湖州帕丁顿的家长朋友们慕名而来。

On the afternoon of Dec. 24, the Gala kicked off at the school’s indoor gymnasium, gathering together school faculty and staff, students and their parents for the annual event that celebrates the arrival of a new year. Among the audience, there were even potential parents who are likely to have their kids enrolled in Paddington.

动感的音乐点燃了冬日的激情，首位登上舞台的是301班沈喆煜。他用激情的架子鼓演奏刺激着每位观众的听觉神经。

Energetic music enkindled the passion. The first performer going up to the stage was Danny Shen from Class 301 who activated the auditory nerve of all the audience by playing drum knit.

时而紧凑时而舒缓的鼓点中蕴含着一种一往无前的气势。

The compact and soothing rhythm conveyed an indomitable spirit.

鼓棒在他的手中飞速跳动，打击乐的魅力尽显无遗!

The drumstick moved frenziedly in his hand, showing perfectly the charm of percussion music!

湖州帕丁顿一直鼓励孩子们在创新中寻求突破。这不，201班的孩子们带来了他们全新改编的故事《小蝌蚪找妈妈》。

The school has been encouraging students to seek breakthroughs in innovation and the performance by Class 201 students was a best example of this. They created a revamped version of the story Little Tadpoles in Search for Their Mother and their cub-cuteness was simply adorable.

孩子们憨态可掬的装扮分外可爱，而故事的主线又与保护动物牢牢结合，赋予了这个传统故事新的定义。

The plot was centered on animal protection, adding a new layer of meaning to the original story.

《童年》，联欢会是属于大家的狂欢，这自然少不了爸爸妈妈们的节目。由家委会组成的“爸”气十足组合强势来袭。

The Gala is a celebration for all, so parents would still put on performance. The parents committee puts up a Hotman group who sang the song Childhood.

一首新编版《童年》道出了老男孩们的成长岁月，让大家感受到了青春的懵懂和纯真。

This new version of the song led us to see their days of growing up and reminded us of the simple and care-free adolescent years.

《The sound of New year》，作为一所双语学校的联欢会，自然是少不了双语的元素。外教老师Josh为大家带来了纯正的英语朗诵：《The sound of New year》。

A Gala of a bilingual school cannot go without bilingual elements, so foreigner teacher Josh recited an English poem The Sound of New Year for us.

校长们带来了经典曲目《莫斯科郊外的晚上》的再度演绎。校长说，他们的演出，旨在参与，强调师生互动。当然，他们的歌声让大家感受到了夜晚的静谧和美丽。

The school principals immersed us in the tranquility and charm of night with the classic song A Night at Moscow Suburb, though they humbly said that”they participated mainly to inspire teacher-student interaction and conveyed the night tranquility and beauty to all present”.

弘扬传统文化 注重国学素养

弘扬传统文化，注重国学素养一直是湖州帕丁顿的课程特色之一。701班的同学们以古诗三句半和拜师大典再现等多种形式向大家展示了中华文化的博大精深。

It has always been a distinctive feature of the school’s courses to promote traditional Chinese culture and pay attention to their traditional cultural accomplishments. Students from Class 701 presented the profound and extensive Chinese culture in various forms such as ancient poetry Sanjuban (a folk art form that consists of three sentences and a half) and the ceremony of paying homage to teachers.

如何以表演的形式展示孩子们平时的美术作品?

So how could children’s art works be shown in the form of performance?

马老师创造性的将孩子们的作品设计成了衣服，邀请学校里的老师们走上了“T台”，上演了一场帕丁顿时尚秀。

Miss Ma gave full play to her imagination this time by making these works into clothes and invited other teachers on stage for a fashion show in Paddington.

舞蹈优美灵动，武术刚中带柔。

Dancing is graceful and martial arts combine force with grace.

舞蹈社和跆拳道社的成员们先后登上了舞台，用他们充满优美和力量的表演，为大家呈现了肢体之美。

Members of the dance club and taekwondo club came on the stage and made the audience see the beauty of their limbs with their refined and strengthful body movements.

英语歌曲串烧，要说最有国际范儿的节目，还属国际高中部带来的英语歌曲串烧。同学们通过清唱的方式演绎了一首首脍炙人口的歌曲，其中别有一番风味。

Students from the international high school department brought international style performance to the gala with the medley of English songs. The slew of catchy tunes really created an extra kick.

电影社团的孩子们带来了他们曾在湖州市中小学文艺汇演中取得二等奖佳绩的原创校园剧《加油!小言》。

Kids from the film club performed Come on, Xiaoyan, an original campus drama that won the second prize in Huzhou Primary and Middle School Art Show.

他们以多样化的表现形式为大家呈现了家校，家庭，师生三者密不可分的。

In a variety of forms, they interpreted the close tie among families, the school, teachers and students.

《Snow White》，702班的同学们用英语歌舞剧的表演形式，为观众们演绎了他们心目中的王子公主童话。

Students from Grade 7, Class 2 presented to us their fairytale of prince and princess by performing the English drama.

多么难忘的午后，多么美好的时光。也许我们无法阻挡时间的流逝，但是我们可以主宰自己的心情。因为新年，让我们承载着无尽的祝福和期望。最后，本次联欢会所有的参演人员都走上了舞台，共同合唱一曲《新年好》，表达着对未来的渴望!湖州帕丁顿双语学校新年联欢会圆满落幕。

We spent an unforgettable afternoon and had a wonderful time. We cannot stop the passing of time, but we can manipulate our mood. We have received endless blessings and expectations for the new year. Finally, all performers came on the stage and sang together Happy New Year, wrapping up the gala with wonderful hopes for the future!
