为了让同学们亲近自然，拓展自然科学知识，增强环境保护意识，湖州帕丁顿双语学校特地组织同学们来到上海辰山植物园，进行了一场直面自然的科学之旅。

To enable students to get close to nature, expand their knowledge of natural science and enhance their awareness of environmental protection, the School organized a scientific exploration trip to Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden.

无声之美

Beauty beyond words

上海辰山植物园全园占地面积约207公顷，是华东地区规模**的植物园。

Spanning an area of about 207 hectares, it is the largest botanic garden in East China.

而对于湖州帕丁顿的同学们来说，这次上海辰山植物园之旅可不仅是走马观花式的游览，他们需要收集不同种类的植物，然后深入的了解，并完成自己的植物探究报告。

For students of the School, this was not a whirlwind tour. They were told to collect information of different plants for further study back at school and they will have to write their own plant study report.

带着这样的任务，有的同学用画笔临摹了各式各样的植物;有的同学用相机直观地记录了植物的外观;而更多的同学是用纸笔记录了植物的名称、生长条件、所属种类，便于回校以后进一步的探究。老师们也耐心地为同学们答疑解惑，讲述植物相关的知识。

To finish the assignment, some students drew pictures of the plants, some took photos of them with cameras but most of them just wrote down names, growth conditions and species of the plants that would help their further study back at school. The teachers answered questions patiently and taught plant-related knowledge.

大美无言，同学们被气象万千的植物深深吸引，或低头深思，或奋笔疾书，或发出由衷的赞美。

Great beauty is beyond expression. The kids were attracted by the wide variety of plants. They were lost in thought, were busy taking notes and gave their hearty compliments.

误入花间

A flower field surprise

离开植物馆，一片辽阔的月季花田横亘在大家眼前。虽已是初冬，但这里却像是一个用鲜花编织的童话世界。同学们凑近花朵感受着沁人心脾的芬芳，在笔记本上记录下了月季花的不同品种。

They came across a vast field of rose flowers after leaving the garden. Although it’s now early winter, this place is like a fairy tale world of flowers. The kids approached the flowers to feel their refreshing fragrance and noted down the different varieties of rose flowers.

而低年级的小朋友更是在花田里恣意地玩耍起来，在冬日邂逅如此美丽的花田，怎能不让人心动!

Super excited, those younger ones had a really good time here. What a big surprise it is to chance upon a flower field in winter!

幽谷桃源

Mesmerizing Valley Scenery

向西北而行，同学们来到了矿山花园，突然被眼前的景色所震撼——但见飞瀑湍流而下，湖面碧波万顷。同学们顺着冗长的云梯向山谷内行进，来到透明的观景平台，感受群山耸峙的壮景;穿过山洞，品味幽谷独有的寂静;走过浮桥，流动的湖水给同学们带来所未有的行走体验。

Heading northwest, the students came to the mine garden and were thrilled by the stunning scenery that came into view. The turbulent waterfalls and turquoise lake were simply breathtaking. They walked along the long-winded ladder to the valley and to the open sightseeing platform and feasted their eyes on the spectacular view of mountains. They passed the cave and felt the unique silence of the valley. They crossed the floating bridge over the flowing water, an experience they’ve never had before.

时光匆匆，本次的参观活动也已进入尾声。经过植物园一行，同学们从大自然的旁观者变成了大自然的观察员和探究员，加深了对于植物的了解，开拓了科学的视野，感受到了大自然的魅力。

Time flies and the tour soon came to its end. This trip made students from observers and researchers rather than onlookers of nature. They gained more knowledge about plants, opened up their horizon and felt the charm of Mother Nature.
