Macquarie has always considered our students to be co-creators in their learning. One of the most exciting developments in our new curriculum is around your ability to study two degrees at once.

In this double degree, you will be able to combine:

Bachelor of Media and Communications: Whether you’re interested in making your own films or music videos, writing for print and online publications, designing interactive and trans-media websites, producing radio podcasts and broadcasts, or managing public relations campaigns, this degree will equip you with the skills you’ll need to respond to today’s – and tomorrow’s – rapidly evolving media environment.

Bachelor of Commerce: This course will prepare you to become a business professional in a wide range of careers. You'll study a set of extensive and integrated foundation units to orient you to business, and then you'll complete one or two majors to develop depth in your chosen discipline.

KEY FEATURES

Double degrees fast-track your study – you usually complete double degrees one or even two years faster than you would undertaking both degrees on their own. This not only saves you time but money as well.

This course provides a blend of theory and applied knowledge. The critical-thinking, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills you'll acquire are highly sought after by employers.

Compulsory foundation units in the first year develop your core skills in all major business areas.

You’ll develop production skills reflecting a range of industry practices in which the contemporary media producer must be able to operate across platforms.

You’ll have access to professional-quality studios for screen production, drama, dance, music recording and radio production; industry-standard digital workstations; a specially equipped theatre for screenings; and digital production tools.

You’ll have the opportunity to undertake a internship, which will enhance your employment prospects.

To apply for an undergraduate program, international students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications: A recognized senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification; A recognized university Foundation course; A recognized 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree; At least one year of a university degree from a recognized institution. IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent.
