Macquarie has always considered our students to be co-creators in their learning. One of the most exciting developments in our new curriculum is around your ability to study two degrees at once.

In this double degree, you will be able to combine:

Bachelor of Media and Communications: Whether you’re interested in making your own films or music videos, writing for print and online publications, designing interactive and trans-media websites, producing radio podcasts and broadcasts, or managing public relations campaigns, this degree will equip you with the skills you’ll need to respond to today’s – and tomorrow’s – rapidly evolving media environment.

Bachelor of Arts: This degree allows you to turn your passion into a career by exploring your interests in depth, and by honing your skills and knowledge through internships, practical application and expert teaching. No other degree at Macquarie offers as much flexibility and as wide a range of units as the Bachelor of Arts.

KEY FEATURES

Double degrees fast-track your study – you usually complete double degrees one or even two years faster than you would undertaking both degrees on their own. This not only saves you time but money as well.

You’ll be taught by active researchers, published academics, and award-winning teachers and industry professionals.

You’ll develop an ePortfolio that showcases your transferable knowledge and skills to potential employers

You’ll develop production skills reflecting a range of industry practices in which the contemporary media producer must be able to operate across platforms.

You’ll have access to professional-quality studios for screen production, drama, dance, music recording and radio production; industry-standard digital workstations; a specially equipped theatre for screenings; and digital production tools.

You’ll have the opportunity to connect with employers and communities via internships, work-integrated learning opportunities and study abroad experiences, which will enhance your employability and international outlook.

To apply for an undergraduate program, international students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications: A recognized senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification; A recognized university Foundation course; A recognized 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree; At least one year of a university degree from a recognized institution. IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent.
