About this course

Film and history are closely linked, with roots going back to the earliest days of cinema. We offer this exciting and challenging film and history degree for movie lovers and history buffs. You'll study film history from a variety of perspectives: as popular art, big business and as a cultural record.

You'll study familiar classics alongside contemporary cinema. Genres you'll explore include:

• film noir

• horror

• science fiction

• documentary

• animation

You'll deepen your understanding and enjoyment of film, and develop your critical thinking as part of a lively community.

为来自中国的学生设计 To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need: First year of a relevant degree from a high ranked Chinese university, with an average grade of at least 70-80% . National Senior High School Certificate (three years), achieving an overall Grade B (80%) with minimum B (80%) in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course. Students completing two years of Senior High School should have achieved 85%, National Senior High School Certificate (for both two and three years), achieving an overall 85% with 85% in maths and physics. National Senior High School Certificate (three years) achieving 80% overall, with 80% in both biology and chemistry. Students completing two years should achieve 85% overall with 855 in biology and chemistry. IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
