专业概况

在这里学什么？ Our BA Spanish and Linguistics allows you to study the language, cultures and societies of the Spanish-speaking world. You will have the opportunity to pursue a range of historical, cultural, and political topics within Iberian studies and Latin American studies, with an emphasis on linguistics in particular. Linguistics is the study of language in all its forms and is concerned with the many different facets of language, from the physical properties of sound waves in speech and the structure of sentences to the social context in which conversations are embedded. At Southampton, linguistics modules cover various areas of linguistics, including how languages are structured, their differences and similarities, how they are taught and learned, as well as how their use varies in different speech communities. The broad range of linguistics modules available reflects our expertise and our emphasis on choice. Modern languages and linguistics at Southampton is ranked fifth in the UK for the quality of our research (REF 2014). Teaching and learning is supported by three research centres, Transnational Studies, Global Englishes and Applied Language Research. You will be able to learn another language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese or Russian from scratch, and reach graduate level in French, Italian, German and Portuguese.

为来自中国的学生设计 To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need: First year of a relevant degree from a high ranked Chinese university, with an average grade of at least 70-80% . National Senior High School Certificate (three years), achieving an overall Grade B (80%) with minimum B (80%) in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course. Students completing two years of Senior High School should have achieved 85%, National Senior High School Certificate (for both two and three years), achieving an overall 85% with 85% in maths and physics. National Senior High School Certificate (three years) achieving 80% overall, with 80% in both biology and chemistry. Students completing two years should achieve 85% overall with 855 in biology and chemistry. IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
