专业概况

About the Course

This course links both the theory and practice of economics with that of natural ecosystems. The programme aims to give students the opportunity to learn about the role that economics can play in the design and implementation of sustainable policies for ecosystem management.

Ecological Economics focuses on how to make sustainability and environmental management work in practice by applying economic principles. Graduates with postgraduate training in this area are in greater demand than ever before in business, industry and government.

This programme is affiliated with the University's Global Environment & Society Academy.

Global Environment & Society Academy

On completion of this course, students will gain an understanding of the multi-dimensional nature of the environmental problems an appreciation of the interaction between ecology and economics; the means to develop expertise in the design and implementation of sustainable environmental policies; enhanced skills in specialist topics.

The MSc Ecological Economics degree is awarded by the University of Edinburgh.
