Open doors to rewarding career opportunities by combining your passion for analytics and mathematics with a grounding in the principles of business management and leadership.

This dual program provides you with a focused background in economic theories and business management principles, along with the in-depth knowledge of a mathematics program.

The Bachelor of Business Management will allow you to develop core business skills. You can then build on these by selecting specialist areas of study including leadership and management science, innovation and entrepreneurship, business economics, business information systems, human resources, international business and marketing.

In the Bachelor of Mathematics, you'll choose to develop a comprehensive specialised knowledge in one field of mathematics or a high level of sophistication in the applications of mathematics. You can then use your knowledge in sectors of the economy beyond the traditional areas of engineering and the physical sciences, such as finance, economics, information technology and molecular biology.

You'll graduate with skills that are in high demand and you'll be ready to take a leadership role across an array of industries.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This major will show you how to take a new idea to market by building a new business from the ground up.

You'll first be introduced to basic principles of innovation and entrepreneurship, including the entrepreneurial mindset and process. Then you'll apply this knowledge in practical courses on digital innovation, social entrepreneurship and growth strategies, as well as technology and innovation management.

Through leadership development you will become a resourceful, creative and resilient innovation leader who delivers sustainable commercial and social value. Further extending your skill set, you’ll engage directly in a short placement or consulting project in a startup or commercial partner project.

You’ll also have the option to develop and grow your own business in an incubator or accelerator within the UQ entrepreneurship ecosystem or beyond. These deep immersion experiences will move you closer to commercially viable business solutions while establishing valuable networks with potential partners, investors, entrepreneurs and mentors.

To be offered a place in an undergraduate program, you need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12, or a qualification equivalent to Queensland Year 12, with the required minimum entry score for the program you're interested in studying. English Language Scores: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; BE: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
