By completing the dual program you'll gain an extra qualification and open up pathways to use your engineering prowess in a broad range of business applications.
In the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), you’ll develop technical skills through a core specialisation, which will form the basis of your career.
Depending on your choice of specialisation, the engineering skills you'll develop will allow you to work in a range of fields, from infrastructure and hospitals to energy and software.
Under the world-class business program, you'll complete a range of courses that cover concepts relevant across the business world. You'll study topics including innovation and entrepreneurship, economics, marketing, business information systems, strategy and management.
During your studies you'll hear from guest lecturers from industry, examine real-life case studies and undertake projects, placements and internships with leading businesses.
Electrical Engineering
Are you passionate about renewable energy? Do you want to discover new ways to generate power? Are you interested in building digital devices that transmit data across the world?
Within the electrical engineering specialisation, you will learn to design and manage equipment and investigate embedded systems that contribute to almost every sector of society.
These systems include smartphones, electrical power and renewable energy, medical imaging for healthcare, electrical appliances for homes, scientific instruments for laboratories, lasers for high-speed communication and satellite systems for remote sensing.
With much of your coursework being hands-on, you'll leave UQ with highly regarded specialist technical skills. This flexible and transportable degree will open opportunities with companies across the globe.
Electrical engineers work in exciting roles in major internet, communications and power generation organisations. Many graduates establish their own companies early in their careers or work overseas.
Career paths can lead to roles in the telecommunications industry, computer industry, the mining and transport sector, or in power generation and transmission industries.
Our electrical, computer, and biomedical engineers have been employed by organisations such as Siemens, Phillips, Cochlear, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson and ResMed.

To be offered a place in an undergraduate program, you need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12, or a qualification equivalent to Queensland Year 12, with the required minimum entry score for the program you're interested in studying.
