专业概况

The Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation is designed to help students understand the challenges and opportunities that can arise when embarking on a new business venture or leading a period of change within an organisation. The course focuses on the specific needs of entrepreneurs seeking to successfully commercialise an idea and covers a broad range of knowledge areas. Students benefit from opportunities to work on projects that have direct relevance to their work.

Course description

The Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation focuses on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and the skills required to be an effective intrapreneur, who builds opportunities within existing organisations, or an entrepreneur, who creates new ventures and disrupts through innovative initiatives. The course combines entrepreneurial theories, models and methods with practical experiences and applied learning. The course design also allows the choice of electives to complete a related business specialisation such as social impact, or digital marketing.

Career opportunities

Graduates learn the skills to successfully start and/or develop new enterprises, and to enhance career development within organisations. Possible roles include entrepreneurs, team players, general managers and dynamic public servants.

Aims and objectives

At completion of the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, graduates will be able to:

• apply coherent and advanced knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation concepts in diverse contexts and applications using critical thinking
• apply problem solving, design and decision making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex problems with intellectual independence
• communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader of a diverse team, and use the basic tools and practices of entrepreneurship within project work
• demonstrate professionalism, integrity, ethical conduct, professional accountability and an awareness of professional practices in a global and sustainable context
• apply fundamentals to the analysis, design and operation of a business model using appropriate entrepreneurship and innovation methods and tools
• reflect on, and take responsibility for, learning and self-management processes
• apply knowledge of research principles and methods to plan and execute a piece of research with some independence.

为来自中国的学生设计 Standard entry: A recognised three-year Bachelor degree with a minimum average score of 60 per cent; or A recognised AQF level 8 qualification in a cognate area, such as the Graduate Certificate of Media and Communication; Completion of the Postgraduate Qualifying Program with a minimum average score of 60%.
