Students who choose to major in mathematics must complete the following requirements in addition to the special requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree:

Requirements

At least 30 advanced semester hours of mathematics, including:

MATH 2131 - Linear Algebra Labs with MATLAB Credit Hours: 1.0

At least 30 advanced semester hours in mathematics, which must include:

MATH 3325 - Transition to Advanced Mathematics Credit Hours: 3.0 MATH 3330 - Abstract Algebra Credit Hours: 3.0 MATH 3331 - Differential Equations Credit Hours: 3.0 MATH 3333 - Intermediate Analysis Credit Hours: 3.0

MATH 3334 - Advanced Multivariable Calculus Credit Hours: 3.0 or MATH 3335 - Vector Analysis Credit Hours: 3.0 or MATH 3363 - Introduction to Partial Differential Equations Credit Hours: 3.0 or MATH 3364 - Introduction to Complex Analysis Credit Hours: 3.0

MATH 4389 - Survey of Undergraduate Mathematics Credit Hours: 3.0 Additional 12 advanced Math elective hours with a minimum of 9 hours at the 4000-leve, which includes a Math Senior Sequence
