在这里学什么？

The Master of Research is a University wide, cross-disciplinary research training course available in most schools and departments. This is a level 7 qualification and can be taken as an alternative to a taught masters. It provides high-quality training to potential doctoral students as well as a stand-alone qualification for social science researchers.

The course aims to:

• teach you to systematically review alternative approaches, methodologies and paradigms of research in your chosen field
• enable you to critically evaluate the application of these approaches in the specific areas in which you specialise
• support you within an active research community, in identifying and investigating your own original research questions
• Like other research awards it engages one to one supervisory method to enable candidates to produce an academic research informed thesis relating directly to their practice.

If you want to develop your career as a researcher, this research degree will help you to evidence the necessary skills within your developing professional portfolio. An MRes is ideal if you are looking to take your first steps into academia, and it is also an excellent stepping stone to doctoral-level research - either a PhD degree or a professional doctorate.
