Do you want to gain a qualification in teaching and supporting learning whilst further developing your skills and knowledge? If you have experience and are currently employed in higher or professional education and aspire to gain professional recognition, this programme is designed for you.

Course Details

At the University of Bolton we have a ‘Teaching Intensive, Research Informed’ ethos. This means we aspire to offer postgraduate student-focused courses that inform best practice in teaching and learning, underpinned by the research knowledge of our high quality staff.

This contemporary and stimulating programme of study gives you the opportunity to critically evaluate the latest educational developments and research, and improve your own professional practice. You’ll be shown how to create effective and inclusive teaching and learning environments, while studying the theories, principles and application of different strategies and approaches. You’ll draw from and focus on work-based experiences to share and explore the most effective techniques and methodologies, working collaboratively with your multi-professional peers, and networking with a range of teaching professionals online.

Our welcoming team of highly experienced, professionally and academically qualified staff will cover topics that include action learning, enquiry and work-based learning, formative and summative assessment, and the use of information technology.

• On successful completion of this course you will be awarded a certificate worth 30 credits at Level HE7 that can contribute towards the Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education offered by the University of Bolton.
